Maritza serves on an Inquiry Board and Oversight Committee Member of the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission:
- Determining whether sufficient evidence exists in investigations alleging misconduct against Illinois attorneys;
- Filing formal charges before the Hearing Board when sufficient evidence exists
- Imposing remedial conditions on deferred matters, and
- Dismissing actions without sufficient evidence.
Volunteer for grade school children at St. Viator Art Zone program;
Mentor to Loyola University of Chicago School of Law students;
Speaker at Chicago public grade and high schools, and parochial grade and high schools;
YMCA, Level II Swimming Official volunteer, and
Supporter and volunteer for ROW, a rowing team for breast cancer survivors.
